Again

To be human is to nurse a fragile spark inside a cage of shifting darkness.

We forge forward through a world locked in a deeply angst ridden bitter frost.

Our breath escapes into the freeze, blooming into fleeting, pale ghosts, a sharp reminder that we are merely transient structures of water and air.

We ache for the weight of another hand to press against this biting chill.

We hope for a sudden, violent strike of kindness to burn away the heavy, choking dark, knowing all too well that our fragile, shared warmth is the only true shield we have against a vast, indifferent universe and its endless, brutal seasons.

That fragile spark and the hope of kindness, is that all we have.
