A compelling read!

My teen daughter is a reluctant reader. Her Granny bought her The Wishing Stick, and she started to read as a gesture of goodwill towards Granny. She connected with Janey, the main character, quite quickly, had a laugh and shed a tear at their antics.

I read it and also had a laugh. The book has some decent wisdom amongst the stories, in a way that works.

Uplifting!

This is a simple yet very useful read, with relatable characters and real-life situations. Janey goes from ‘smarty-pants’ to worldly-wise. Loved the situations she found herself in and how she dealt with them. Good read for teens and adults alike.
